Perfect Pastels for Springtime Nails

With the sunshine streaming through the window, enjoying brunch plans and BBQ’s and wearing your favourite dress with summer sandals. While the weather warms up, our feet and hands are often neglected over the winter months. If you're keen to be sandal ready, it might be time to give your nails some TLC.

We often play it safe in autumn and winter, defaulting to darker shades and neutrals. What better way to get into the new season, update your look with some fresh and on – trend nail colours. From buffing and filing to moisturising and fake tan, here are our tips for beautiful summer-ready nails.

Refine and Exfoliate:

Smooth those hard, dry bits of skin that build up over the winter months, before or after your bath or shower. Aim to buff your feet twice a month to help prevent hard skin build up. By adding in a foot scrub once a week it helps keep dry skin at bay and smooth any rough edges. Keep nails short and tidy. Use a gentle nail file to soften the edges slightly and buff out any ridges or uneven surfaces. Use a cuticle remover to soften the dead skin and gently wipe away with a cuticle tool.

Moisturise, moisturise, moisturise!

The regular use of a nourishing hand and foot cream will make a huge difference to the appearance of your skin texture and dryness. In summer, your feet dry out quickly so it’s best to use a specific foot cream to avoid cracked heels. Apply cuticle oil whenever you remember to keep them soft and add extra shine to the nail.

By simply changing up your nail colour, adding two coats of polish will transform nails, updating your look and make your outfits pop. Ditch your go-to colour for years and consider the spring nail polish trends that all over Instagram and Pinterest, pastels.  Glossy lavender, lemon yellow, pale pink through to rainbow glitter and multi- coloured nails. Toying between two favourites, go for both! The possibilities are endless, and the world is at your fingertips!
